How should I measure the width and length of my dump truck bed to ensure that my TARP IT fits perfectly?

The TARP IT system will require that 2 brackets be affixed to the top, front of your truck bed.  The preferred method of attachment is to weld the brackets to the truck bed.  You will need to provide us with the width measurement between the two welded brackets in order for us to manufacture a TARP IT system that fits your truck perfectly

To find the width measurement, you may need to get someone to help you.  Place 2 six inch square pieces of cardboard on either side of the truck bed, situated in such a way that they mimick the placement of the TARP IT mounting brackets. (shown in the illustratons above and below).  Once you have the mock mounting brackets held in place, measure the distance between them.  Your TARP IT tarp system will be manufactured to fit inside the width dimensions that you specify.

Next, measure the distance from the center of the intended mounting bracket to the top of the tailgate.  This is the length measurement.(Note the arrows in the image below.)

Does TARP IT manufacture a 'mousetrap' type of contraption to guide the tarp over peaked loads?

The TARP IT standard system is a simple rope-pull system.  We do manufacture a 'mousetrap' device for guiding the tarp over peaked loads for an additional cost of $195  We adhere to a simple design philosophy.  Our tarps can be guided over peaked loads by simply flipping the pull-rope up and over the load as it is manually tensioned while walking toward the rear of the truck. 

A 'mousetrap' apparatus is available for an additional $195 or you can purchase the material and I can instruct you on how to make your own. We believe that our system is superior due to it's simplicity.

Can I get help with the installation?

Yes.  If you frequent the greater Phoenix/Glendale areas of Arizona, or are planning on hauling a load through the area anytime in March 30, 2009 9:50 PM system.  Installation usually takes less time than washing your rig.  (Typically only 30 minutes is required to get the tarp system installed and to get your rig back on the road.)  Contact us to place your order and to set up an appointment for your installation.
